BIG IDEA: 
Church is not a place we go to but something we become.

1. Love God

"42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching … … and to prayer."

   a. Know God:
 
   Jesus asked 307 questions. He was asked 183 of which he only answers 3-8 directly. 

   b. Experience God:

i) Holy Spirit:

"43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles."

ii) Application/Obedience of His Word

iii) Learning from the experiences of others


2. Serve People

"42 … and to fellowship, …… to the breaking of bread …"

Two types of people:
Within the church/CG:
Fellowship – “Koinonia”

"46a Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts."
"46b They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts …"

Beyond the church:

"44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need."
"For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem." (Ro 15:26)


3. Make Disciples towards Christlikeness

"47a praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people."
"47b And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."


Application Questions:

1. What is the most significant thing the Holy Spirit spoke to you about through this sermon?

2. As a 5-min icebreaker, ask this question: “What do people look for in a community?” (Break into groups of 3’s and discuss. Have each group share at the end.)

3. How would you rate and describe your relationship with the people in your CG? (From 1 - casual acquaintance, to 10 - deep and close relationship.)

4. Read Acts 2:42-47. What made the early church so dynamic and effective? Discuss this in the light of our tag-line.

5. How does your CG fare in the light of this passage? What is one thing you would like to see the CG improve in 2017?

6. How can your CG members be more involved in 
“Love God, Serve People and Make Disciples Towards Christlikeness?” Brainstorm how the CG can step out 
to serve people and how discipleship can take place 
in the CG.
